Print File Setup Guide
This is a simple guide to ensuring you get the best print quality from the files you provide us!
Resolution
For fine art and photography giclee printing, we request a minimum resolution of 200 dpi, and 300 dpi is preferred at the size you intend to order. If your resolution is naturally higher than that, perfect! Unfortunately, we can't guarantee the print quality of any files with a native resolution lower than 200 dpi.
Crop
We prefer you crop your image to final size before uploading it to the website, but our uploader can let you crop post-upload if desired. Once you upload your file and click on it to move to the next step, our cropping tool gives you standard aspect ratios as well as custom (freeform) crops.
Color Space
All files should have an assigned RGB color space (sRGB, Adobe1998). Contact us if you prefer to work in a different color space.
If you have color concerns, we highly recommend that you convert to CMYK on your end to get an idea of whether or not any colors in your image will dull or change in print.
Note* that we will only accept files uploaded in RGB color spaces.
File Type
We prefer to work with flattened TIFs, but will use any acceptable image file types.
.JPG, .PSD, .PSB, .PDF are other acceptable formats. All files must be flattened before upload.
Under certain circumstances, we may contact you to see if a layered file is available.
Borders
We know how important accurate cropping is for the impact of the final image. It's best if your supplied file has the borders integrated into the file you upload (in this case, select borderless during the ordering process).
You can also supply your image without borders and select borers on the order page. Standard size borders of Borderless, 1/2", 1", 1-1/2", and 2" are available for selection as well as a Custom border option. The Custom selection allows you to enter a different border width for each side of the print if desired, or create an equal border not shown as standard.
